Whatcha' Working On?

Well, I've started my Stacy Nash as I posted earlier. I'm also working on an altered art piece. I shuffled through my dictionary and as a challenge picked a word from the page. "Map" - it was so fun coming up with a piece that included the word. Not that it is a new idea, it's done all the time on different challenges, but it was a fun way to get the creative juices flowing. LOL It's an 8x10 stretch canvas. I have some more to do with it, and I may try bees wax as the finish. I haven't found where to get the bees wax around here though. I'll find it on line I think. So here's the progress pictured above. I've also started reading a new Jeffery Deaver book before bed. It's been a busy week, but I always find time to do something creative. I just have to. Well, I hope to have pics of my stitching project to post soon.
I was checking in on all my blogland friends and there are so many creative things going on. I just love it. Thanks, I love getting comments and emails and I am thankful that this little neighborhood of creativity exists, it just gets better all the time. Hug, P :)

Spreading Out In My Studio

Happy Mother's Day! It was beautiful weather, just a tad cool, but I loved it. My girls called and we did a four generation breakfast out. It wasn't planned so that made it more fun.
My sweet helped me clear out non-studio items from my space. It opened up more room to spread out. He added an 8 foot section of surface for being creative. I organized and cleaned and dumped until I'm pooped. We will be putting my window air in soon, but for now it's on the floor. I also painted a little dresser aqua and black with polka-do handles. LOL It was an ugly cinnamon color, and I now it's so artsy cute.
I like lot's of color in my studio ... but the wall colors are calming and I love it out there.

New Year — New Things for Creating

Happy New Year! Well, I finished my two stitching projects ahead of time. New Years Eve day found me on the couch still, so ... stitching done. Pillows or framed? Hmmm. Later in the afternoon, I started feeling allot better. Voice was audible! Showered and off to Burlington I went. New year ... new stuff. I went a little crazy at the 50% off sale at Hobby Lobby. I have been wanting these punches for quite awhile. Forgot to put them on my Christmas list, so what's a girl to do. Happy New Year to me. LOL. I'm a sap for new papers. Everything pictured was half off. Yipppeee!
Well all that tired me out, after dinner with my daughter, son-in-law and a couple friends + my sweet darling Marley, I was home early and so wanted to see the ball drop. But, I didn't make it.
My husband had gone on down to our cabin in Missouri, where we originally planned a New Year party with several couples. I just didn't have enough go to get there. He plugged away without me, so as not to ruin the plans. We kept in touch by phone and I think I got the feel for their merriment, and still got my rest and another day of my antibiotics down. Needless to say, all worked out and we are off to a wonderful new year. He'll be home and says he's whisking me away on Saturday for some fun, if I keep getting better. We always manage to have fun doing something. Well, I'm out to the studio, straightening up again, and thinking through some projects. Until later, Hug P
